A Big Weekend

Wow... have our lives changed!! This weekend was the first since Aubrey has been born that we haven't had family in town and actually got more than 2 1/2 hours of sleep. We decided to have a big family outing so we went to Pottery Barn Kids at Merrick Park, a ritzy outdoor mall in Coral Gables. It's funny how we felt that Aubrey's life just wouldn't be complete without the butterfly mobile or the little pink clock that would look "perfect " in her room! So we walked out twenty minutes later $90 poorer. I think we are setting a pretty high standard for the rest of our children.

Of course, our daughter was perfect, which made us want to take another adventure on Sunday with her... this time to Target! Since she goes through about 80 diapers a week, it was time to stock up! Our friend Dave considered buying diapers for a year as a gift, and I'm glad he reconsidered. He honestly would have had to choose between Pampers for Aubrey or buying food.

Who would have thought that a full weekend would have consisted of nothing more than Pottery Barn Kids and Target?? But as we walked the aisles choosing the wipes that were just right and picking out the best smelling baby shampoo, I could have cried with joy (Ok, so it doesn't take much these days to make me burst into tears)! I have been blessed beyond measure with Kevin and now with Aubrey. May I never take life's simple pleasures for granted!
