Fingers and Toes

I've been sitting down in front of the computer for the past week or so trying to put together a new post. I have been racking my brain, and searching for brilliant parental words of wisdom to share with everyone. So far I have come up with absolutely nothing. I guess motherhood has officially sucked any coherent thoughts from my brain and all I am capable of now is singing "Old McDonald" and blowing strawberries on Aubrey's tummy. So I'll just move right along and catch you up on the latest and greatest from Aubrey Finn. Because in the past couple weeks she has not only gotten cuter (as if that were possible), but also has added some new tricks to her repertoire.

For the last two weeks she has been rolling like a champ. Her new favorite activity is rolling from one end of the living room to the other... only stopping to suck her thumb for a few minutes before heading back in the other direction. And let me tell you, she looks mighty proud of herself! I don't know if I should be encouraging this because I can tell crawling isn't far behind and I'm not sure if I can keep pace with her!

The second little trick is practically being able to stick her entire foot into her mouth, although she'll settle for her big toe. After many a nap I have gone in to find her with both socks pulled off, trying desperately to suck on her toes. At least they're clean right??

This leads me to my proudest moment thus far as a mom. Aubrey is putting herself to sleep and STAYING asleep! I wrote last time of the sleep training madness and I have to say that after much skepticism, I am now a believer. Sure she'll occasionally whine and sometimes wail for a few minutes but I don't blame her... playing is way more fun than sleeping! The best part of her soothing herself to sleep is the wake up time. Out of nowhere I'll hear her talking to her little butterfly friends dangling above her from her mobile. And when I go in, I'm greeted with a gummy little grin that I'm sure means, "Hey mom! I missed you!"

Things at the Finn household are moving along smoothly and Aubrey sends her love to you all!
