Bottomless Pit
Have I mentioned how much I love being back in Jacksonville? Aubrey and I had our first lunch with friends earlier in the week (ok, by the time I am getting around to posting this, it was last week). Kit, Shannon, Amber and all 5 kids packed a table at Firehouse Subs. There were firemen hats for Tommy and Ben, diapers being changed at the table, and an applesauce hair-do... I loved every minute of it.My favorite part of the converstaion was when it turned to talk of when and where each little munchkin would go to Kindergarten. Aubrey has a good chance of being in the same school, if not class as some of our friends' children. I know school is years away and things change, but I realized that Aubrey will soon be playing with kids that will probably be life-long friends and it couldn't make me happier.
We are on Day 7 of Project Sweet Potato and things are going pretty well. I can't seem to shovel in the food fast enough and we think she'll be making the jump from 25th percentile to 95th in no time. The little girl who I used to wrestle during feeding time has turned into a pretty good eater! Just when I thought I was doomed to giving Aubrey two baths a day for the next year, Grandma Finn came into town. She successfully fed Aubrey two entire meals WITHOUT the majority of it going straight into her hair. I doubt I'll have the same success when she leaves, but at least I can scoop the cereal from her tray and use it as mortar if we ever decide to rebrick the house!
